* This position is eligible for OITS's hybrid work program. The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule.
Compensation:
* Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $16.00 to $20.00 / hour

Position Summary:
The Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) is seeking an IT Application Administrator Intern to assist with the support and maintenance of State of Kansas enterprise applications. This internship provides hands-on experience in application administration, user support, troubleshooting, system configuration, and business process improvement. Under the guidance of experienced team members, the intern will gain practical experience supporting enterprise technology platforms and collaborating with stakeholders across state government.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the day-to-day support and maintenance of enterprise applications.
* Help manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests.
* Assist with troubleshooting system issues and documenting resolutions.
* Support data entry, data validation, and system testing activities.
* Assist in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards.
* Help document business processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
* Participate in application upgrades, testing, and release activities.
* Provide basic user support and training assistance.
* Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on technology-related projects.
* Perform other duties as assigned in support of application administration activities.
Internship Learning Opportunities:
* Gain exposure to enterprise application administration and support.
* Learn software configuration, testing, and change management processes.
* Develop troubleshooting and customer support skills.
* Participate in real-world technology projects serving State of Kansas agencies.
* Gain experience working within a professional IT environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Analytics, or a related field.
* Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical program, or have graduated within the past 12 months.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
* Interest in enterprise applications, business systems, and technology support.
* Basic understanding of databases, software applications, or business information systems.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Basic problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with Microsoft Office products and data management tools is preferred.
Necessary
Special Requirements :
Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
