Transportation Project Director

• Lead development and execution of the project management plan
• Build and maintain client relationships with MoDOT, KDOT, ODOT, and Iowa DOT
• Serve as primary client liaison for one or more mega ($5M+) and/or super mega ($25M+) projects
• Manage contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management
• Implement HNTB’s project delivery plan using the Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA)
• Develop and nurture key client relationships and identify client needs and business solutions
• Manage project financial performance, cash, budget, schedule, and scope
• Set priorities, obtain commitments, and engage resources to staff projects
• Collaborate with office and division leadership to solve challenges and meet business objectives
• Supervise and mentor project teams
• Oversee Project Managers where appropriate
• Oversee project staffing, recruitment, hiring, development, retention, succession, reporting plans, and performance and compensation review support
• Lead pursuits of mega projects and participate in super mega project pursuits
• Develop long-term strategies and pursue additional business opportunities with key clients
• Prepare proposal and presentation materials
• Lead client interviews, proposal presentations, and industry presentations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• 12 years of relevant experience
• 4 years of experience successfully managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
• 20 years of relevant experience preferred
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Employment eligibility verification required
• Visa sponsorship is not available
