General Responsibilities & Position

Purpose:

The Electronic Assembler is responsible for assembling electronic components, subassemblies, and systems using hand tools, light assembly equipment, and lead-free soldering stations. This role requires following production work instructions and shop orders to complete assemblies with a high level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

• Set up and operate appropriate tools, equipment, and fixtures for product assembly
• Solder wires and electronic components to printed circuit boards (PCB)
• Assemble and solder wiring harnesses
• Perform hand assembly of plastic and metal heat sinks and case components
• Conduct functional testing on work-in-progress and completed units
• Read and follow documented quality system procedures, work instructions, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Partner with production supervisors to identify and resolve assembly issues and support continuous improvement efforts

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math at a high school level
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear for extended periods while performing continuous operations
• Flexibility to work in other assembly line roles as needed (inspection, testing, packaging, etc.)
• Familiarity with component polarity and verification of proper solder and component placement
• Good eyesight, including close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment
• Manual dexterity to work with small components

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of soldering experience preferred (SMT and THT components)
• Experience in electronics manufacturing environments preferred (2+ years desired)
• PC-A-610 Certification preferred

• Pants required (no shorts)
• T-shirts permitted (no offensive language or graphics)
• Closed-toe shoes required
• Gloves optional (provided by client if needed)
