Partners Personnel has partnered with a leading Plastics Manufacturing Plant in Wichita, Kansas. We are hiring for two critical roles for a long-term, direct-hire opportunity:
Forklift Operator and Packaging Specialist
Position: Forklift Operator / Packaging Specialist
Pay Rate: $17.50
Shift/
Hours:
- 1st shift – 7am – 3:30pm
- 2nd shift – 3pm – 11:30pm
- 3rd shift – 11:00pm – 7:30am
Shift Differential: .20c
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere strictly to corporate and plant safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Efficiently and accurately load trucks, securing products to meet customer specifications and prevent damage during transit.
- Operate the forklift to handle materials with precision, including loading and unloading from pallets, skids, or other lifting devices.
- Monitor material usage on the production floor and ensure timely replenishment of raw materials to support uninterrupted production.
- Weigh materials and products accurately, and record data meticulously to maintain precise inventory and tracking.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, and perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, and tying of products to ensure proper organization for distribution.
- Unload and stack materials using the forklift, ensuring proper stacking techniques to optimize space and maintain material integrity.
- Track and report production metrics, such as packaging speed and accuracy, to ensure targets are met and identify areas for improvement.
- Address and correct any packaging defects or issues identified during the inspection process, ensuring that reworked items meet quality standards before they are distributed.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator OSHA certification with 1-2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lift, stack, and stand for extended periods.
- 1-2 years of experience addressing and correcting any packaging defects or issues identified during the inspection process.
- 1-2 years of experience and commitment to maintaining high standards of performance, including punctuality, attendance, and dedication to meeting production and safety goals.
