Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Research, draft, write, and perform all data analysis required for various air quality planning related documents, especially those related to oil and gas and the regional haze rule. Air quality planning documents may include revisions to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) and all supported documentation, economic impact statements, comments on proposed rule making, Regional Haze four-factor analysis documentation, and others.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Research, draft, and prepare state implementation plans, policy documents, agreements, technical summaries, and other planning air-quality related documents. Research involves gaining an understanding of and gathering the technical and legal documentation necessary to ensure conformance with the objectives of federal and state programs. Duties may pertain to national ambient air quality standards, regional haze, greenhouse gas emissions, and other issues.

Conduct the monitoring, emissions and other data analysis components of State Implementation plans. Duties could include researching rules, regulations, and guidance and modeling protocols, drafting technical datasets or summaries, drafting SIP language and participating in public hearings. Perform special and statistical analysis of data as requested. Examples of such work could include special air emissions inventory studies/surveys; review and comment on meteorological modeling studies performed by EPA, RPOs and others;

assist in application and conduction of dispersion modeling, mobile modeling, and reviews of such modeling.
