Overview
MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self‑motivated Retail Donation Attendant for our Shawnee Store – Mission team. Hourly Rate: $15.50
Qualifications- No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers, customers, and management.
- Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse workforce.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with drop‑off, and offering thanks, donation incentives, and tax receipts.
- Handle all donations with care and respect.
- Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
- Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise being donated.
- Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
- Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
- Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross‑functionally with other teams to increase communication.
- Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation and contribute to ensuring the workplace is hazard‑free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris‑free.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
- Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Monthly bonus up to $250.00
