POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Sales Representative enhances sales efforts in an assigned area or territory by continuously developing business relationships with new and existing customers. This role sells company products or services at a senior level, staying up-to-date on product knowledge and market data to enhance selling techniques.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Makes a catalog of target markets and prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Develops sales pitches to obtain new business and encourage growth.
  • Schedules meetings and delivers sales pitches to prospective customers.
  • Develops routine calls and meetings with existing customers to build business relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as product expert for sales pitches; able to display and demonstrate product, emphasizing salable features and benefits and answering all technical questions.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Provides credit applications and assists in collection of past due accounts.
  • Provides accurate estimated date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules, and follows up if the delivery date changes.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions, maintains expense accounts, and presents findings to management.
  • Coordinates customer training on products and services.
  • Acts as a mentor to Sales Representatives on sales techniques.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, communicating resolutions to customers to ensure continued satisfaction.
  • Successfully and consistently achieves or exceeds sales quotas.
  • Represents company at state and regional trade shows.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive business‑to‑business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Routine travel locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem‑solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Self‑motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have a current driver’s license.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Noise level in the work environment may be high.
