Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position is essential to ensuring that the facility has an adequate level of all items on hand including clothing, bedding, cleaning supplies and equipment, household supplies, office supplies and miscellaneous items necessary for to maintain daily operations of a 24/7/365 facility. This position provides coordination with various facility staff to enable efficient distribution of necessary items for completion of daily work requirements.

Ensures enforcement of applicable security requirements including but not limited to pat searches, key control, tool control, and movement control.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

* Maintains inventory on inmate uniforms, including information on sizes on-hand, sizes on-order, sizes damaged, and sizes needed. Maintains database by inmate including information on sizes issued, received, and damaged. Coordinates with laundry exchange room staff when residents are admitted or released. Coordinates with both compound laundry exchange rooms to ensure clothing orders are filled in a timely manner, and returned clothing is collected, de-tagged, and returned to inventory.

Oversees sewing room production to ensure adequate supply of uniforms made on-site; communicates with Supply Warehouse weekly or as needed via supply requests to maintain adequate stock of purchased items. Utilizes database to track and record inmate clothing orders and transactions.

* Ensures that an adequate level of all items is on hand including cleaning supplies and equipment, household supplies, office supplies and miscellaneous items necessary for the operation of the entire institution. Initiates the necessary paperwork, which begins the ordering process. Confers with Procurement Officer II regarding supplies required consumption and problems that affect the performance of assigned duties. Ensure stock is dated and rotated.

Actions are taken to maintain an adequate level of stock, minimize losses and to maintain communication with supervisors regarding daily occurrences. The PPPS periodically reviews to ensure that adequate levels of goods are maintained. Performance is reviewed by Physical Plant Supervisor Specialist annually for completeness and as a part of employee's evaluation.

* Receives deliveries from vendors including all incoming freight. Logs and checks in all freight and marks property for appropriate departments. Checks packing or delivery slips to ensure items are in compliance with order as far as quantity, condition, quality, and specifications. Fills requisitions for supplies requested from the storeroom and delivers to requisitioning departments - accomplished through issuing supplies from approved requisitions.

Is reviewed periodically by Procurement Officer II for accuracy. Dispatches delivery personnel to the appropriate areas. Supervises a detail of residents and trains residents in warehouse, safety and cleaning procedures. Maintains warehouse in a clean and orderly manner consistent with facility guidelines.
