Job SummaryThe Logistics Manager is responsible for driving regional economic growth through the attraction, development, and retention of businesses, with a strong emphasis on Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and logistics management. This role bridges the public and private sectors, ensuring efficient supply chain solutions while maximizing the benefits of the FTZ program.
Essential Functions- Optimize inbound and outbound logistics operations for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Develop and implement best practices for inventory management and supply chain visibility.
- Work with third‑party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers to improve service levels.
- Analyze logistics data to identify cost savings and operational improvements.
- Oversee daily FTZ operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Manage FTZ activation, expansion, and modification processes.
- Coordinate documentation including T&E (Transportation & Exportation), CBP Form 214, and EEI filings.
- Serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBI)).
- Ensure proper inventory control systems are in place and compliant with FTZ requirements.
- Train internal teams and clients on FTZ procedures and benefits.
- Build strong relationships with tenants, clients, government agencies, and community partners.
- Occasionally represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and economic development forums.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy in compliance‑driven environments.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute operational plans.
- Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Preferred experience in economic development, FTZ operations, or logistics management.
- Preferred or some knowledge of FIZ regulations, U.S. Customs Procedures, and International trade compliance.
- Experience with inventory control systems and logistics software.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to be seated for prolonged periods of time while performing repetitive work at the computer. Some bending, stretching, and lifting.
- Normal office environment.
