Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs calibration on instruments that measure characteristics of product in accordance with schedule
  • Prepare calibration reports with all required data
  • Perform ISO internal audits
  • Assist in writing and maintaining of calibration procedures or work instructions
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, vendors, and contractors
  • Initiate Calibration Deviation Reports as required
  • Performs First Article, In Process, and Finals Inspections
  • Performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products
  • Monitoring of machine processes in production
  • Perform initial investigation for the items that fail inspection
  • Provide feedback to production on the quality of product
  • Performs Process Capability Studies
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
  • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
  • Coordinate calibration of measurement tool with outside laboratories as needed
  • Maintain calibration database and any documentation related to calibration
  • Conduct gage R&R study as needed
  • Assists in the performance of contract and capability reviews and in the selection of qualified calibration sub-contractors
  • Provide training on calibration issues throughout the company
  • Determine acceptance criteria, interpret data, evaluate data, and select the best possible standards available that will give an acceptable uncertainty
  • Measurement and verification of product characteristics (mechanical dimensions to specified tolerances)
  • Document inspection results
  • Initiate nonconformance process for items that fail inspection
  • Obtain disposition instructions/approvals from appropriate personnel
  • Performs SPC analysis on samples and able to trend data
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Have excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Must be thorough and detail oriented
  • Must have ability to make decisions involving accepting or rejecting items
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Uses a variety of measuring devices to verify material or part conformance to company or manufacture standards (i.e. calipers, comparator, gauges, etc.)
  • Understands root cause analysis tools
  • Possess knowledge of test and measurement equipment and the applicable reference standards
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Capable of working with little or no supervision
  • Accurate and attentive to details
  • Proficient in the use of mechanical measurement equipment
  • Understands sampling techniques
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desired
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment desired
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat and cold in production areas
  • Necessary operate computer terminal for extended periods
  • Maintain a 40 hours work week and have ability to work longer hours as required
  • Must be able to view written and printed material for extended periods
  • Must be capable of working in the manufacturing environment using proper safety equipment
