Shop Hand – Metal Fabrication

Express Employment Professionals in Shawnee is hiring a Shop Hand for a local metal fabrication company. The Shop Hand will assist with daily shop operations, material handling, and supporting fabricators. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00/hour

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM (currently working overtime until 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch)

• Keep work area neat and orderly
• Assist with general shop duties, including material prep and clean-up
• Safely operate hand tools and assist with equipment
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Work overtime as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and follow written/verbal instructions
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Accurately read a tape measure
• Lift 50+ lbs. regularly
• Physically capable of stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects
• Trainable on forklift and overhead crane
• Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
• Reliable and hardworking with a willingness to learn
