- Schedule:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization, using medical‑surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and life for patients, families and significant others.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements- Uses medical‑surgical nursing practice to evaluate and improve quality of care.
- Establishes effective relationships and advocates with patients, families and significant others to develop individualized care plans.
- Implements nursing process, collects assessment data, determines diagnoses, sets expected outcomes, implements interventions and evaluates outcomes.
- Develops assessment and management strategies based on physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational and leisure dimensions.
- Co‑ordinates and collaborates with inter‑professional teams to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
- Communicates effectively to participate in culturally sensitive, ethical, legal and compassionate decision‑making.
- Educates patients, families and significant others on health promotion and comfort measures.
- Serves as mentor and role model for nursing colleagues, students and others to foster a healthy work environment.
- Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to deliver patient‑specific care.
- Performs point‑of‑care testing as per policies and performs other assigned duties.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or educational equivalency for licensing.
ExperienceNo experience required.
Physical RequirementsConstant use of speech and oral communication; constant standing and walking; frequent lifting of objects 0‑25 lbs; frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use; frequent vision, depth perception and color identification; frequent smell and hearing; occasional lifting of 25‑50 lbs and patients; occasional movement, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, repetitive motions; occasional driving; rare crawling and running.
Required Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse (RN) – Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma or Wisconsin (or Compact state RN).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).
