- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at Game Stop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases/return transactions using the POS system; handle transactions accurately, place merchandise in a bag, and provide a receipt while delivering top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed to align with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document written feedback into Workday / HR service management system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; associates should know all job aspects, policies, inventory control, loss prevention practices, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
- Schedule store associates to follow scheduling guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked and pay accuracy.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages/belongings at closing or shift end; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Conduct store inventory counts and stock merchandise to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness; address hazards and report injuries per company guidelines.
- Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
