Hourly range: $12.00-$14.00
All full time positions include medical, dental and vision insurance. The biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for employee only, $95.00 employee plus children, $120.00 employee plus spouse, and $140.00 employee plus family.
Functions statement:
· Serving customers by collecting money and ringing up sales in cash register, processing credit card purchases, closing out and making accurate deposits.
Major duties:
· Prepares inventory reports.
· Maintains inventory operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Organizes supplies in an orderly system.
· Maintains an inventory with an existing or self-developed program.
· Determines the types of items that sell most often.
· Tracking the dollar values of items being sold.
· Must have effective and courteous communication skills.
· Availability to work any shift, start time, weekends and holidays.
· Maintain a professional work schedule.

Knowledge required by this position:
· Knowledge of organized reporting methods and techniques for inventory, ordering, and stocking.
· Knowledge of office organization, scheduling, analyzing information.
· Knowledge of the importance of deadlines, workflow, lines of authority, value of items being inventoried and sold.
· Knowledge of rates of turnover of certain items.
· Knowledge of suspense files.
· Knowledge of safety practices.
· Knowledge of the relationship of deadlines to mission accomplishment.
· Knowledge of inventory control methods.
· Knowledge of manufacturers safety decals (MDS) on supplies that pose a possible health or safety risk.
· Knowledge of English grammar and spelling for effective communication skills.
· Knowledge of basic math computations and problem solving.
· Knowledge of appropriate and inappropriate behavior with customers.
· Knowledge of the principles of "undue familiarity".
· Knowledge of operating an automated cash register and computers.
Factor 2:
Supervisory controls:
· Incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Gift Shop Manager.
· The supervisor assigns work, advises on changes in procedures and is available for assistance when required.
· Routine work is performed independently following set procedures.
· The work is reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through complaints from customers and through observation of the employee at work.
Factor 3:
Guidelines:
· Written and oral guides provide specific instructions for doing the work.
· Most of these instructions are easily memorized and require little interpretation.
· When instructions do not apply, the problem is referred to the supervisor.
· These guidelines are generally applicable, but the employee makes adjustments in dealing with problems and unusual situations.

· The incumbent will face a variety of situations that require on the spot resolution when dealing with people that are irritable, or in a hurry.
· The incumbent will have choices to make regarding how to handle different complaints, requests and situations.
· The complexity ranges from a low level to a medium level in that the work is mastered easily, and the incumbent takes the obvious course of action.

· The primary purpose of the work in this position is to create a satisfied customer.
· The work contributes to the efficiency of daily operations of the Department of Finance and Grand Casino Hotel & Resort.

Physical demands:
· Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving continuously, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
· Standing for long periods of time, extensive walking throughout the day.
· Bending, squatting, kneeling and stooping.
· Requires acute hearing and sound discrimination, and visual acuity.
· Lifting up to 40 lbs. and moving of boxes, supplies and sales items.

Work environment:
· The majority of the work is indoors within a climate-controlled environment.
Minimum qualifications for consideration:
· Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
