Position

Summary

The Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Worker to help maintain, repair, and inspect buildings, equipment, the RV park, and other facility grounds. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained for visitors, guests, and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance, repairs, and facility operations, along with the ability to identify and address maintenance issues in a timely manner.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00 - $18.00.

This position will remain open until November 13, 2026. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, grounds, and facilities.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain doors, windows, walls, floors, fixtures, and other building components.
  • Repair water faucets and replace electrical outlets, breakers, and related utilities within the RV park.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks and conduct scheduled facility inspections.
  • Maintain, service, and perform minor repairs on large equipment and vehicles.
  • Assist with painting, landscaping, grounds maintenance, and general facility upkeep.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and completed work orders.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff, guests, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2+ years of previous maintenance, repair, construction, or facilities experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and find effective solutions.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work as required.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
