Join a progressive community-focused organization dedicated to fire prevention, public safety, code compliance and community risk reduction.
- Conduct fire and life safety inspections of commercial, residential, and institutional properties.
- Enforce fire codes and municipal ordinances and coordinate corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver fire safety, injury prevention, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Maintain inspection, education, and enforcement records using department software.
- Review building plans and assist with pre-incident planning activities.
- Represent the Fire Department at community events, meetings, schools, and outreach programs.
- Collaborate with city departments, property owners, businesses, and public safety partners.
- Respond to Fire and EMS incidents as assigned and maintain operational readiness.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, or related field;
Firefighter I/II certification, Fire Inspector Certification, Wisconsin Medical Responder (EMR) certification (minimum), knowledge of NFPA 1, NFPA standards, Wisconsin Fire Codes and municipal ordinances; strong communication, organization, report writing, and Microsoft Office skills; valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
