Position Summary:
The Quality Managers is a hands-on position that will provide direction and leadership for the Contract Midwest and Kelch quality team including peoplemanagement as follows: managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues;hiring; assisting direct reports with career development; communicatinginformation to direct reports, passing information up the management chain and fostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishinggoals/objectives; and, maintaining trust and confidentiality while promoting ateam environment.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

* Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.

* Mentor and guide direct reports.

* Oversee the daily workflow of the direct reports.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Contract & Kelch Quality to support customer and operational needs.

* Provide leadership, direction and clear information to Quality Staff as well as manufacturing floor employees regarding product quality, quality systems requirements and operational methods.

* Act as a back-up for the quality team as needed (PPAP, complaint handling, production support, etc.).

* Participate in new product development initiatives representing quality.

* Lead the corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.

* Coordinate new process techniques that improve overall job efficiencies.

* Be a resource for the initiation and implementation of cost improvement plans on new and existing programs.

* Coordinate scheduling & overseeing internal audits. This includes conducting internal audits.

* Assist in coordinating external (customer, regulatory) audits.

* Maintain QMS process and procedures that assure compliance with ISO 9001:2016 and other regulatory standards.

* Work with management to establish quality goals and objectives.

* Coordinate Management Review compilation and execution.

* Maintain Quality Metrics and coordinates data collection and trend analysis for Management Review and to support continuous improvement opportunities.

* Facilitate communications between customers, suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a quality/engineering or management discipline.

* 7-9 years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

* 3-5 years experience in a leadership/supervisory role.

* Certification/Experience as an internal or lead auditor (ISO 13485 or 9001).

* 5-7 years experience operating under a certified quality management system (e.g. TS:16949, ISO 9001:2015).

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to fully understand customers' requirements.

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a development team.

* Experience in plastics and plastic processes is a plus

* Strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to multi-task.

* Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, sales, and customers

* Project management skills with a history of accomplishment.

* Computer

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Experience with other quality software applications beneficial. (e.g. statistical analysis).

* Proactive and acts without being prompted.

* Ability to travel 10 - 15%
