CNC Machine Programmer and Set

The Machinist is responsible for the timely and accurate manufacture of parts per print specifications utilizing a variety of machining centers safely, and may also make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines.

• Check for defective parts on materials and perform maintenance on machines.
• Identify material to be utilized in the manufacturing process.
• Identify various types of tooling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Set up, operate, and maintain grinders, lathes, saws, and milling machines.
• Review and understand blueprints to ensure accurate production.
• Accurately take precise measurements.
• Select appropriate tooling and settings for a given work order.
• Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete a work order.
• Check output for quality assurance.
• Program and prove out machining programs to achieve desired results.
• Operate forklift and overhead crane when required.
• Check and add coolant.
• Assist in deburring, shop support, or other areas.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of machining experience preferred but not required.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
• Collaboration skills with colleagues, including in person.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work with standard and metric measurements.
• Proficiency with tape measure and willingness to learn other measuring tools.

• Protective clothing required: safety glasses and safety shoes.
• Ability to sit, talk, and listen, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to a safe weight limit (not specified).
