Fifth Color is looking for a versatile Application Specialist who brings together strong vinyl production skills, a solid graphic design foundation, and the ability to support on-site sign installations. Whether you already have hands-on experience or foundational knowledge of print and design, we’re looking for someone eager to grow and we’re committed to providing the training to take your skills to the next level.

This role is ideal for someone who is as comfortable preparing production-ready artwork in Adobe Illustrator or Flexi as they are applying vinyl, installing signage, and working hands-on with materials. The right candidate enjoys variety, thrives in a fast paced environment, and isn’t afraid of heights, ladders, or outdoor installation work when needed.

Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Production:

• Create, edit, and prepare vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator or Flexi.
• Convert customer-supplied files into clean, production-ready formats.
• Set up layouts for signs, banners, decals, and large-format prints.
• Operate Mutoh printers, cutters and related production equipment.
• Perform vinyl cutting, weeding, masking, and application with precision.
• Ensure all files are correctly sized, color-accurate, and aligned with production standards.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain quality.

Sign Installation & Field Work:

• Install a variety of signage including vinyl graphics, wall wraps, dimensional signs, banners and event signage.
• Assist with on-site installations at client locations and sporting or event activations.
• Safely operate boom lifts and man lifts to access ten gables and elevated installation areas at heights of approximately 20’- 40’.
• Work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces as required.
• Follow site plans, installation instructions, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot installation challenges and ensure clean, professional results.
• Support removal, repair, and maintenance of signage as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with vinyl production, cutting, weeding, and application.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and file accuracy.
• Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working at heights of 20’ – 40’ and operating boom lifts and man lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sign shop, print, shop, or large-format production environment.
• Familiarity with Flexi, Adobe Illustrator and Mutoh printers is a plus.
• Experience installing signage, vinyl wraps, or event graphics.
• Basic carpentry, construction, or installation experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of signage materials, substrates, and production processes.
