Position:
Outreach Specialist
Salary: Minimum annual $59,603, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Job SummaryThis position will support people across the lifespan by delivering and evaluating educational programs and resources related to aging, family caregiving, and end-of-life programming. It will foster community readiness and capacity to support older adults and family caregivers by building and strengthening coalitions and leading networks of professionals to engage in policy, systems, and environmental efforts to create age- and caregiver-friendly environments.
The role also involves research-based community education programs and resources that strengthen parent knowledge and skills, providing training to family-serving professionals, including the early care and education workforce. The successful candidate will maintain collaborative relationships built with local agencies that serve older adults and family caregivers.
Main office located in Sheboygan, WI; primary programming focus is Sheboygan County, with some broader regional programming.
Key Responsibilities- Research, develop, and facilitate outreach program content and materials.
- Deliver outreach program content and materials to community members.
- Schedule and secure resources and communicate logistics to support outreach programs.
- Identify, promote, and maintain external partnerships for outreach program support.
- Lead implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day‑to‑day activities for program staff, student and community volunteers.
- Assist with monitoring outreach program budget and spending.
- Communicate plans, activities, and achievements to Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners, and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and evaluate curriculum and programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
- At least two years of experience relevant to the educational programming and service delivery of the position.
- Demonstrated experience developing effective partnerships or coalitions with community partners and local governments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments.
- Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high‑quality work.
- Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
- At least five years of work or lived experience relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position.
- Demonstrated success in developing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs for different audiences using a variety of techniques, methods, and modes.
- Demonstrated skill in interpreting, utilizing, and applying evidence‑based information and research findings to the benefit of program participants and the community.
Required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree related to the position’s area of focus.
Preferred Education: Continued education or certifications related to the position’s area of focus, which may include a graduate degree.
