Plant Controller — Manufacturing | Northeast Wisconsin
Our client, a growing manufacturer, is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the senior finance leader at their core manufacturing facility in Northeast Wisconsin. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO, with a high degree of autonomy across plant accounting, cost management, and forecasting.
About the OpportunityYou'll partner closely with plant operations leadership as a strategic finance business partner, while also contributing to consolidated company reporting and special projects with the CFO. The organization has a track record of growth (including through acquisition) and recently implemented a new ERP system — creating a real opportunity to help shape reporting structure and cadence from the ground up.
What You'll Own- Annual operating budget and monthly rolling forecast for the facility, from assumption-building through submission to the CFO
- Monthly variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year, with quantified drivers and root-cause explanation
- Financial models supporting capacity, staffing, make-vs-buy, capex, and pricing decisions
- The standard cost system — annual cost roll, labor/overhead rate development, BOM/routing accuracy, inventory valuation
- Manufacturing variance analysis (PPV, material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap) and corrective action with operations
- Independent execution of plant month-end/year-end close, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Partnership with corporate accounting on fixed asset records
- Contributions to consolidated company reporting and ad hoc analysis with the CFO and corporate FP&A team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of finance/accounting experience, including 3+ years in manufacturing finance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ERP system experience
- Strong P&L knowledge and experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics
