Position: Deputy - Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office

Sheriff's Deputy

The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sheriff's Deputy. Deputies perform professional law enforcement duties to protect life and property, enforce laws and ordinances, respond to calls for service, and maintain public safety throughout the county.

This position requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic and sometimes high-stress environments.

Essential Duties
  • Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
  • Enforce federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
  • Conduct traffic enforcement and investigate motor vehicle crashes.
  • Investigate criminal incidents and gather evidence.
  • Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Execute warrants, subpoenas, and other court orders.
  • Testify in court and assist with criminal prosecutions.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies, disasters, or special events.
  • Maintain positive interactions with community members and partner agencies.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent;
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Correctional/Police Science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Additional knowledge, skills, and/or abilities are as follows:
    • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively, efficiently, and entirely complete assignments
  • Valid Driver's License Required
