Pay: $24-25/hr
Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00a-3:00p or 6:00a-4:00p
Location: Kiel, WI
Position Overview
The Skilled CNC Setup Operator will set up and operate CNC machines, perform production runs, inspect parts for quality, and support overall shop efficiency. This role works with a variety of machines and products based on customer needs while maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform typical machine shop operations
- Setup and operate CNC machinery and tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints to manufacture parts accurately
- Inspect machined products to ensure customer specifications are met
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions
- Complete and maintain production paperwork and documentation
- Develop processes and tooling from blueprints
- Perform preventive and routine machine maintenance
- Train and assist new and current employees as needed
- Operate forklifts to move materials and deliveries
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Technical school certification OR 2-3 years of CNC setup experience in a machine shop environment required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members
- Basic math skills including fractions and decimals
- Commitment to safety procedures and company policies
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work with small parts and measurement tools requiring close visual attention
- Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots
- Manufacturing/machine shop environment
- Exposure to dust, odors, fumes, and moving machinery
- Heated and ventilated production floor
