Die Cutter Operator

B1 Die Cutter Pressman

Sheboygan Paper Box Company is seeking a skilled and motivated B1 Die Cutter Pressman to join our Die Cutting Department. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting die cutting equipment to produce high-quality folding carton products while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.

• Read and interpret factory tickets, die charts, and job specifications.
• Perform complete die cutter make-ready functions, including:
  • Loading tooling
  • Setting up feeders
  • Striking in counter plates
  • Setting swords
• Set up and operate die cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper register, creasing, and cutting throughout production runs.
• Troubleshoot machine and production issues and communicate solutions with supervisors, leads, and die room personnel.
• Inspect production loads for defects and maintain quality standards.
• Complete all required production paperwork and sample retention documentation.
• Assist with routine maintenance and upkeep of die cutting equipment.
• Perform die knicking to company standards.
• Communicate effectively with other production departments to ensure smooth workflow.
• Continue developing knowledge of folding carton manufacturing processes and construction methods.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Operate Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) as required.

• Experience setting up and operating Bobst die cutters preferred.
• Folding carton industry experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a sense of urgency.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with good judgment and attention to detail.
• Die room and pre-make-ready experience is a plus but not required.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing, die cutting, or related experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand production instructions, work orders, and technical documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
