Folder Gluer Operator Join Our Team
Sheboygan Paper Box is looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Folder Gluer Operator to join our Finishing Department. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality folding carton products by setting up, operating, and maintaining advanced finishing equipment. Shift: 3rd (10:00pm-6:00am)
Compensation: Starting at $25/hr (Based on experience) plus $1.50 shift premium
What You’ll DoAs a Folder Gluer Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining finishing equipment while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set up, operate, and maintain Bobst finishing equipment, including hot melt and cold glue systems
- Operate equipment such as:
- Domino 110
- Alpina with Easy Feeder and Carton pack II
- Masterfold with Easy Feeder, Batch Inverter, and Carton pack II
- HHS Gluing Systems
- Heiber Schroeder Window Machine
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Lead and coordinate crew activities to support production schedules and workflow
- Conduct quality checks to ensure customer specifications are met
- Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) as required
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Previous Folder Gluer operating experience strongly preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Successful completion of a mechanical aptitude assessment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Manufacturing, printing, packaging, or finishing experience is a plus
- Ability to read and understand factory tickets, work instructions, and production documentation
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and measurements
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Regular standing and walking throughout the shift
- Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and adjustments
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
- Ability to distinguish colors and perform close-up visual inspections
- Manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment
- Regular exposure to machine noise
