Overview
Georgia‑Pacific is hiring a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at our Sheboygan, WI location.
The Supervisor will utilize leadership, operations experience, and communication to identify and convert improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems. The ideal candidate is self‑driven and demonstrates a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. They also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills, and are capable of leading transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities- Lead an operating team in compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality.
- Foster a culture based on our Principle‑Based Management (PBM®) Philosophy.
- Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in the resolution of causes.
- Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
- Ensure best practices are followed for the minimization of waste at machine centers.
- Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on‑time production.
- Plan, assign, and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results daily.
- Experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or military environment and demonstrated experience coaching and developing a team.
- Experience working in the corrugated packaging/container board industry on a corrugator or in a converting operation.
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
- Experience working with the KIWI application.
- Experience working within a unionized workforce.
- Experience with SQF or BRC.
