Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead multiple manufacturing departments on the 3rd shift. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient production operations while meeting daily production goals and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience supervising employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise production operations during the 3rd shift.
- Ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety objectives are consistently achieved.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend process improvements.
- Set daily and weekly production goals and communicate expectations to the team.
- Troubleshoot production issues using a hands-on, coaching-oriented approach.
- Coordinate shift handoffs to ensure smooth production continuity.
- Assign work responsibilities and monitor employee performance.
- Partner with production scheduling to maximize efficiency.
- Review and approve employee timecards.
- Train, mentor, and develop production team members.
- Promote and enforce safe equipment operation and workplace safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Complete and maintain all required production documentation.
- Provide supervisory support on other shifts as needed.
- Technical diploma, Associate degree, or equivalent supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of Production Supervisor experience, or 5 years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment.
- Plastics manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
