Job Title:
Die Cutting Assistant Operator
Shifts Available: 1st Shift (6:00am-2:00pm)
Sheboygan Paper Box Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Die Cutting Assistant Operator to join our Die Cutting Department. This position supports the Machine Operator in setting up die patterns and ensuring efficient production according to job specifications.
This is a progressive, hands‑on role designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow. With successful completion of a structured training program, you will gain the skills needed to operate die cutting equipment and advance within the department.
- Assist Machine Operator with setting die patterns based on factory tickets and die charts
- Read and interpret job specifications and production instructions
- Support make‑ready processes, including stripping and blanker setups
- Perform basic machine maintenance
- Fill in and operate die cutting equipment as needed (after training)
- Assist operators during production setup and changeovers
- Operate aerator and assist with proper stock piling
- Follow baling system procedures
- Safely operate a forklift (or obtain certification)
- Follow all safety guidelines and supervisor instructions
As part of your progression, you will gain experience in:
- Ink and water balance and troubleshooting
- Plate preparation, bending, and registration
- Advanced maintenance procedures
- Ink and coating selection and application
- Installation and calibration of press components
- Prior manufacturing experience;
Die Cutting experience is a plus - Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to learn complex machinery and production processes
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
