About the role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
  • Conduct physical examination, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and the Center Physician’s standing orders.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
  • Coordinate pandemic investigations when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate degree from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current state license or certification: EMT‑Paramedic.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage

US hourly wage range: $22.80 – $31.35
