Overview
Join Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. This role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and to the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works to support plasma center operations and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and ensures environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards at the center.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
- Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalency of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in-state licensure).
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Bio Life Compensation And Benefits SummaryWe understand compensation is important. We are committed to equitable pay and transparent pay practices. For location: USA - WI - Sheboygan. U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 - $45.98. The actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, volunteer time off, holidays, and well-being benefits.
Sick leave and paid vacation accrual are available per calendar year.
