Job Profile Summary
Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Telemetry, Tele Onsite Contract starts 3/30/2026 for 13 weeks. 12 hours/day, 3 days/week.
Major Responsibilities- Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care, involving patient and family in planning.
- Anticipate and respond to significant changes in patient condition, adjusting care plans and mobilizing resources.
- Implement strategies to reduce patient risk, promote safety, and facilitate learning for patients and families.
- Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach and evidence‑based practice.
- Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes; take action when changes are required; support shared governance and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, and leadership, delegating appropriately to unlicensed staff.
- Identify threats to patient safety, report events and near misses, and participate in corrective actions.
- Apply ethical decision making, respect peers, and contribute to an integrated, unbiased care approach.
- Engage in professional development, mentoring, and timely completion of required education and competencies.
- Apply age‑specific knowledge to assess data reflective of patient status and provide appropriate care.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
Experience RequiredTypically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Holistic patient care and ability to recognize situational changes requiring intervention.
- Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive professional relationships with patients, team members, and physicians.
- Critical independent decision‑making ability.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Time‑management skills and ability to multitask in a high‑interrupt environment.
- Coordination, collaboration, delegation, and team‑building skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Push or pull with 30 lbs. of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Use foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Possibly exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine hand‑manipulation skills for IV insertion and related procedures.
- Operate all equipment required to perform the job.
- Night shift: 12 hours (03:00–15:00), three shifts per week.
- Shift rotation: every third weekend.
- On‑call or call‑back: none.
- Holiday requirements: up to 3 holidays per contract.
- Possible floating within hospital scope (MS1, Cardiac MS2, ED Holding).
Sheboygan, WI – Med/Surg Unit 2.
Unit beds: 24. Minimum years of experience required: 2 years.
