Major Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do:As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Med/Surg unit, you will use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate outcomes to deliver safe, high-quality care. You will partner closely with patients and families, building therapeutic relationships throughout the care continuum.
You will anticipate and recognize changes in patient condition, respond promptly, and adjust care plans as needed—collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
You will implement evidence‑based practices to enhance patient safety, reduce risk, and improve outcomes. This includes assessing patient and family readiness to learn and tailoring education to support their needs.
You will coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach while consistently applying nursing and regulatory standards in your practice.
You will evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes—taking action to improve care delivery and participating in shared governance and quality improvement initiatives.
You will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills, while stepping into a leadership role within the care team and delegating appropriately.
You will promote a culture of safety by identifying risks, reporting safety events, and supporting corrective actions to prevent patient harm.
You will apply ethical decision‑making, foster respect across disciplines, and contribute to an inclusive, patient‑centered care environment.
You will also support professional development by participating in education, mentorship, and required competencies.
