Horticulturist

Bookworm Gardens is a non‑profit botanical garden located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, dedicated to inspiring a love of books and nature among visitors of all ages. The gardens combine literature and horticulture, creating a whimsical and educational environment. Bookworm Gardens is a unique community space where storytelling and the outdoors come together. This is a full‑time on‑site role in Sheboygan, WI, for a Horticulturist. The role involves daily responsibilities such as maintaining landscapes, managing gardens, and caring for plants using horticultural knowledge. The role also includes tasks like irrigation system maintenance, planting, and landscaping activities to maintain and enhance the gardens. The Horticulturist will work to ensure the gardens are healthy, vibrant, and aligned with the organization’s mission to inspire through nature and literature.

• Experience in Landscape Maintenance, Gardening, and Landscaping
• Strong understanding of Botany and plant care
• Knowledge of Irrigation systems and watering techniques
• Passion for nature and creating inspiring outdoor spaces
• Physical ability to perform hands‑on gardening and maintenance tasks
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Degree in Horticulture, Botany, or related field preferred but not required
• Previous experience in a botanical or educational garden setting is a plus
