ResponsibilitiesAs a Cashier, you will be at the forefront of our customer service efforts, ensuring each guest has a pleasant and efficient shopping experience. Your responsibilities include:
- Engage with guests; engage in friendly conversations, make eye contact, and ensure every guest feels welcome and valued.
- Process transactions; scan grocery items, handle sales and monetary transactions with care.
- Bag items thoughtfully to ensure products reach their destination in the condition they left our store.
- Stay informed about promotions and advertisements to assist guests effectively.
- Maintain order by keeping your register station neat and well‑stocked with necessary supplies.
- Relay guest requests to the Guest Services leadership team as needed to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure quality and quantity standards are met, especially during peak times at 10 am and 5 pm.
- Support teamwork by performing other duties as needed to support the team.
- Honor commitments with regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice for occasional absences.
To excel in the Cashier role at Festival Foods, you should have:
- Strong customer service skills to engage with guests and provide outstanding retail sales and service.
- Retail experience in processing transactions and handling cash and media at registers.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and retail associate team members.
- High accuracy in reading, counting, and writing to ensure precise transactions.
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Ability to stand in place for long periods, walk within the store, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
- Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, eye‑hand‑foot coordination to operate equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move/handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which includes lifting.
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
The Cashier position is flexible, offering both part‑time and full‑time opportunities. The schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability.

- Weekly Pay & Premium Pay:
Hourly associates are paid weekly; part‑time store associates receive a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays; full‑time associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays. - Two‑Week Advanced Scheduling:
Schedules provided two weeks in advance for better predictability and flexibility. - Vision & Dental Insurance:
Part‑time and full‑time associates are eligible for vision insurance and two dental coverage options. - Support Programs:
