Our client, a metal stamping and manufacturing company serving a diverse customer base, is seeking a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers.

This role serves as a key commercial interface between customers and the company's engineering, quoting, and operations teams, translating market opportunities into won programs. The position focuses on growing the company's metal stamping business through strategic prospecting, account development, and consultative selling of value-added manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within key markets aligned with the company's metal stamping capabilities
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, driving opportunities from prospecting and qualification through quoting, negotiation, and program award
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, serving as a trusted partner and primary commercial point of contact
  • Collaborate with application engineering, quoting, quality, and operations teams to translate customer requirements into competitive, manufacturable proposals
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, terms, and long-term supply agreements to secure profitable business
  • Develop account strategies and growth plans, forecasting revenue and tracking progress against sales targets
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer visits, and networking events to build brand awareness and generate leads
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence, including competitive activity, industry trends, and emerging customer needs, to inform strategy
  • Support the RFQ and quoting process by clarifying customer requirements, scope, timing, and value-added opportunities
  • Track and manage opportunities, customer contacts, and sales activity using CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure smooth onboarding and launch of new programs, maintaining customer satisfaction through early production
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in metal stamping, metal forming, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated track record of winning new business and growing revenue in a technical, custom-manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of metal stamping processes and the ability to speak credibly with technical customers
  • Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand costing, margins, and value-based pricing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present to both technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms for managing pipeline, quoting activity, and customer communications
  • Familiarity with automotive and industrial supply chains, including OEM and Tier 1 customer relationships
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and the quoting-to-launch process in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of how tooling, BOMs, routings, and ERP systems impact costing and quoting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
