Job Description
Experienced Diesel Technician needed to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all‑makes commercial trucks and buses in accordance with dealership and factory standards. This role is a strong fit for a technician who can work independently on both major and minor repairs, values quality workmanship and safety, and wants long‑term training and career development in a high‑accountability shop environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspections, and determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended
- Troubleshoot and repair suspension, driveline, steering components, brake systems (air and hydraulic), engines, and electrical systems
- Install injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other related components
- Document all work performed and recommended repair orders
- Conduct road tests as needed to verify vehicle performance and repair quality
- Organize work effectively and plan for the highest efficiency and productivity across assigned repairs
- Follow all company and industry safety standards
- Participate in continual training and development in support of individual career growth and company goals
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- 5+ years of experience working with diesel engines and heavy‑duty trucks
- Training and hands‑on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials
- Ability to use diagnostic computer systems for troubleshooting and repairs
- ASE certification, OEM training, and 608/609 certifications
- Own toolset to perform assigned responsibilities
- Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
You will work independently on major and minor repairs, diagnose commercial trucks and buses across makes, and help uphold strong service standards in the shop. This role may also serve as a mentor resource for developing diesel technicians.
TrainingOngoing OEM training and continuous development are part of the role, with a focus on helping technicians stay current with changing truck technology and keep building their skills over time.
Work ModelFully onsite first‑shift schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No weekends or nights.
Pay$61,000 - $70,000
