Position Summary
The Shipping Coordinator oversees the daily shipping and distribution operations of the organization. This role is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting efficient logistics processes. The Shipping Coordinator works closely with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Salary$26.20-$31.50 per hour depending on experience.
Shift2nd shift: 2 PM - 10 PM. Candidates should also be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities Shipping & Logistics Coordination- Prepare and process all shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, labels, customs forms, etc.).
- Verify shipping instructions, customer requirements, and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure shipments meet compliance, packaging, and quality standards.
- Confirm product availability and collaborate with warehouse staff to prepare shipments.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment (quantities, product codes, packaging specifications).
- Monitor and track shipments; proactively communicate delays or issues.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and databases.
- Update ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Adhere to company policies, DOT regulations, and international shipping guidelines.
- Ensure proper labeling and hazardous materials handling (if applicable to the industry).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping area.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or related field.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems preferred.
- Familiarity with domestic and international shipping processes.
- Proficiency with shipping software, carrier portals, and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of freight shipping, logistics, and transportation terminology.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts—if certified).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot logistical issues.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs regularly.
- Standing, walking, bending, and handling materials throughout shift.
- Ability to work in warehouse environment (temperature changes, noise, etc.).
- Primarily warehouse‑based with frequent interaction with production and shipping teams.
- May require overtime during peak periods.
