Fir Vale Academy is an inclusive 11‑16 secondary school located in north Sheffield. It is part of the United Learning trust, which offers strong professional development and a wide network of schools.
Role OverviewThe HLTA – Literacy and EAL will provide targeted literacy and EAL support to identified students. The role involves delivering individual and small‑group interventions, developing reading, writing and language skills, and working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, families and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
Responsibilities- Deliver individual and small‑group literacy and EAL interventions.
- Support students in overcoming learning barriers and developing core language skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, families and external agencies to coordinate support.
- Contribute to the Academy’s wider literacy and inclusion strategy.
- Strengthen communication between home and school and build positive relationships.
