Hand Finisher​/Parts Washer - Night Shift

Job Description

We are looking for a Parts Washer/Hand Finisher supporting the Night Shift and reporting into the Operations Manager. This role is based at Boeing Sheffield.

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

• Ensuring parts are washed or hand finished to the correct standard
• Working in line with production requirements and priorities
• Visual inspection of parts for defects
• Using computer systems to book completion of jobs
• Working safely with minimal supervision
• Ensuring correct benching of components, including removal of sharp edges, cleaning of holes, use of orbital sanders, and hand de-burring to drawing and SOP requirements
• Ensuring finishing of components to achieve ‘as drawn’ features
• Mark or identify products as per specifications/instructions provided as necessary

• Previous experience in a parts wash or hand finish role, in a manufacturing environment, or cleaning to a required standard

• Working knowledge of specifications, SOP’s and Work Instructions
• Relevant experience or an industry qualification demonstrating use of power/air tools and bench/fettle processes
• Demonstration of basic numeracy to read measuring equipment
• Attention to detail and diligence (right first time)
• Work with minimum supervision following instruction
• Initiative in time management and method
• Significant levels of concentration required
• Good verbal communicator
• Versatility and flexibility to support job requirements
