An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and qualified Band 3 Nursery Practitioners to join the welcoming teams at Sunshine Day Nursery and Sunshine Holiday Club in Sheffield. This ongoing locum role offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours, making it ideal for Level 3 qualified childcare professionals seeking both stability and work-life balance.
You’ll be working within a supportive and inclusive early years environment, delivering high-quality care and education while helping children thrive during their most important developmental years. What you will do:- Provide high-quality care and engaging educational activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted standards.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes child-led learning and development.
- Act as a key person for allocated children, completing observations, assessments, and developmental records.
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Support safeguarding procedures and report concerns in line with policies and legislation.
- Supervise and mentor Child Care Assistants, students, and bank staff when required.
- Maintain accurate records, registers, and nursery documentation.
- Support daily routines including hygiene, meals, housekeeping, and health & safety duties.

- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding principles.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Participation in mandatory training, safeguarding supervision, and professional development activities.
- Attendance at staff meetings, supervisions, and parent evenings as required.
- Flexibility to work across nursery sites when needed.
