Public Area Cleaner

Courtyard by Marriott Sheffield is a brand‑new 150‑bedroom hotel located between Sheffield and Rotherham. The hotel features stylish rooms, a fully equipped residents’ gym, a meeting room, an on‑site car park, and an all‑day Aspen Restaurant & Bar.

Job Overview

This role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centre, and elevators.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas, ensuring they meet high standards.
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Monitor and restock supplies like toiletries, towels, and sanitizers in restrooms and other public spaces.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for assistance or cleaning needs, providing excellent customer service.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment needs to the supervisor.
  • Assist in setting up for events and special occasions, ensuring public spaces are prepared and welcoming for all guests.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is a plus but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Strong eye for detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage professionally and courteously with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving supplies.
  • Proactive attitude towards safety and willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines.
