Job Overview
As a Graduate/Assistant Ecologist you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments, and protected species surveys. This will give you not only the hands‑on experience of day‑to‑day consultancy but involvement in technical write‑ups, client management, and general cross‑disciplinary project delivery with the wider Brown Co departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role will involve technical write‑ups, client management and cross‑disciplinary project delivery within the Brown Co Ecology team.
Qualifications & Experience- Relevant degree or above
- Willingness to work towards professional qualifications
- Previous experience in the workplace and/or advisory sector is desirable but not essential
- Highly numerate
- Good communication skills
- Capable of working in a team
- Knowledge in arable, livestock or vegetable farming would be desirable
- Experience in undertaking ecological or biological surveys
- Excellent report‑writing skills suitable for technical scientific write‑up
- Knowledge of UK and European wildlife and environmental legislation and policy
- Professional level of Microsoft software competence, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Enthusiasm for ecology
- Self‑driven and motivated
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant subject
- Professional level of Microsoft software competence
