We are working with a great company who are looking to add a couple of Lift (elevator) Engineers to their team. Day to day the successful candidates will be out in the field dealing with installations, maintenance and repairs.
This role offers the following responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modernisation of passenger and goods lifts, escalators, and related vertical transportation systems. The role requires strong technical ability, a safety‑first mindset, and the capacity to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
Installation & Commissioning- Install new lift systems, components, and control equipment according to technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out commissioning tests to ensure safe and compliant operation.
- Work alongside project managers, electricians, and contractors during installation phases.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on lifts, escalators, and mobility equipment.
- Inspect mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems for wear, faults, or non‑compliance.
- Complete service reports, logbooks, and digital records accurately.
- Respond to breakdowns, call‑outs, and entrapments with urgency and professionalism.
- Diagnose faults using test equipment, schematics, and technical knowledge.
- Replace or repair motors, gears, controllers, wiring, doors, and safety components.
- Experience with escalators, platform lifts, or mobility equipment.
- Knowledge of modern lift control systems and diagnostics tools.
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring systems and smart lift technologies.
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift & Escalator Engineering (or working towards it).
- Electrical or mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
- Additional manufacturer training (e.g., Otis, KONE, Schindler, Thyssen Krupp) is an advantage.
This is a field role, so driving license is essential. If you have done repair, but not maintenance or installation or likewise, then please still apply as our client is keen to speak with all different levels of experiences and skills.
