Your main responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Lift Engineer covering Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality installation work and completing handovers to the required standards. This is a full‑time and permanent role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Installing lift/escalator well and ancillary equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Installing traction equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Installing lift ropes (traction media) and adjusting in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Installation of lift doors and frames in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Checking and setting the lift/escalator installation in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Carrying out site surveys.
  • Keeping the supervisor informed regarding progress, hours spent and any non‑compliance.
  • Staying in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needs.
  • Attending all relevant training sessions.
  • Carrying out all works in accordance with the Company's Quality Corporate policy.
  • Working in accordance with the Company's Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
  • Contributing to the Company safety objectives by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes.
What you bring
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent.
  • Possession of a relevant/valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • More advanced product and installation knowledge/experience.
  • Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Installation Managers/SAIS Inspectors).
  • Good punctuality.
  • Manual dexterity – requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
  • Full UK driving licence.
