Service Engineer - Precision​/Metrology Equipment

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a field-based engineer to join a leading name in the precision measurement industry. This independent role supports a national field service team and involves on-site work at customer premises, delivering high-quality installation, service, repair, and calibration of specialist measuring equipment.

Though primarily focused on customers in the Midlands, the role may involve travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

* Install high-precision measuring equipment at customer sites

* Carry out routine servicing and calibration

* Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and repair work

* Ensure all work is completed accurately and in line with company standards

* Communicate clearly with both customers and internal teams

Essential Requirements

* HNC/BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant hands-on industry experience

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Solid IT skills for documentation and reporting

* Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills

* Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical/electrical systems

* Strong time management and ability to work independently

* Confident interpersonal skills and customer-facing experience
