Hgv Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and well-established workshop in Sheffield. This is a permanent position offering excellent earning potential, modern facilities, and long-term job security.

You’ll be working within a professional team maintaining a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

* Servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles

* Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment

* Carrying out safety inspections and MOT preparation

* Completing all work to DVSA and manufacturer standards

* Minimising vehicle downtime through efficient working

Shift Patterns Available

* Rotating Early/Late

Shift:
   Week 1: 06:00 – 14:30
   Week 2: 14:00 – 22:30

* 1 in 4 Saturdays

* 4 on 4 off Days:
   06:00 – 18:30

* Night Shift (Alternate Weeks):
   18:00 – 06:30 (Mon–Thurs / Tues–Fri rotation)

Requirements

* Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

* Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Class 1 or 2 licence (desirable, not essential)
