We are looking for an apprentice trained, fully qualified Electrical Engineer/Electrician with the technical expertise to support the safe and efficient running of the hospital estate.
About the RoleThe post holder will carry out and oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of complex electrical plant and equipment across Trust premises. This hands on role requires strong technical ability, independent working, and effective contribution within a multi-skilled team. We welcome applicants who are proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high quality service within a healthcare setting.
About you- City & Guilds or equivalent knowledge to HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering
- A recognised trade/CITB/EITB apprenticeship
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Electrical NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical discipline
- Experience in a similar maintenance or engineering environment
Reporting into the Senior estates Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver multi-trade repairs and planned maintenance across a wide range of systems.
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical and engineering faults, including generators, LV systems, plant controls, fire alarms, UPS, door entry systems and lifts.
- Act as an Authorised/Competent Person for high- and low-voltage systems in line with HTMs.
- Provide electrical maintenance and repairs to Trust equipment and infrastructure.
- Support installation and upgrade works.
- Participate in the Estates on-call rota.
- Work flexibly in a multi-skilled capacity while maintaining a core electrical focus.
- Ensure compliance with Trust and statutory standards at all time.
