HGV Mechanic – DAF Trained
South Yorkshire | Up to £60,000 DOE | Permanent
Shift Pattern- Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00pm on a rota basis
The client, a well-established and highly regarded waste management business in South Yorkshire, is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will have strong DAF experience and training, together with a solid background in the maintenance, servicing and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.
The RoleAs an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Maintaining and repairing the company's HGV and commercial vehicle fleet
- Preparing vehicles for MOT and presenting them for test
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and repair faults
- Attending vehicle breakdowns as required
- Replacing wheels and carrying out re-torquing
- Carrying out vehicle inspections in line with Operator Licence requirements
- Completing running repairs and preventative maintenance
- Completing all relevant paperwork and job cards
- Working effectively as part of a busy workshop team
- Supporting colleagues and assisting in other areas of the business when required
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent – preferred
- Up to £60,000 per year, dependent on experience
- Permanent position
- 28 days' annual leave, including 8 bank/public holidays
