We are seeking an enthusiastic Children’s Social Worker to join the Locality Team within Central Bedfordshire Council’s Children’s Services in Shefford. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to provide vital support to children and families, contributing to positive outcomes and meaningful change.

• Manage a dynamic caseload of children, conducting home visits and providing direct support to understand their perspectives and experiences
• Chair multi-agency meetings and collaborate with professionals to advocate for the needs of vulnerable children
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, fostering communication and trust to support long-term change
• Prepare high-quality assessments and reports to inform decision-making and enhance children’s welfare
• Engage in child protection, court work, and child-in-need processes, applying expertise in social work theories and models

• Minimum of five years post-qualifying experience in children’s social work
• Proven experience in delivering impactful interventions and achieving positive outcomes for children and families
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, and professionals
• Court experience, ensuring effective representation of children’s interests in legal settings
