Job Description & How to Apply Below
Morning starts with a circuit sketch in AutoCAD—pumps, motors, proportional valves, and cylinders come together on your screen. By midday, you’re building a precise 3D layout in Solid Works, placing components for clean, efficient plumbing. In the afternoon, you compare manifold options to trim plumbing costs and improve response, validate flow velocities and pressure drops, and touch base with the Project Engineer to confirm you’re on schedule and within the quoted hours.
A quick call with the customer wraps the day, aligning on design functionality and any tweaks they need.
What you’ll do Apply deep knowledge of industrial and mobile hydraulic components and systems (pumps, motors, valves including proportional control, cylinders, filtration, heating, and cooling).Create clear, accurate hydraulic circuit schematics using AutoCAD.Research purchased components; specify and document them in the bill of materials.
Build mechanical solid models in Solid Works to optimally position hydraulic components for straightforward, cost-effective plumbing.
Determine when manifolds are advantageous to reduce plumbing expense and improve hydraulic performance.
Select and size hydraulic conductors—tubing, pipe, hoses, fittings—accounting for pressure rating, flow velocity, pressure drop, and seal types.
Work from the Project Engineer’s technical direction to deliver designs that meet functional requirements, schedules, and quoted hours.
Leverage practical plumbing methods so designs are easy and economical to plumb.
Meet with customer representatives to review functionality and incorporate modifications.
Ensure designs comply with industry engineering standards and safety/ergonomic guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to confirm feasibility and manufacturability.
What you bring5+ years of mechanical design experience for automation equipment with a focus on hydraulic systems and fluid power cooling.
Strong proficiency in 3D Solid Works.
Exceptional problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
